Last week in what could be a pivotal game in the conference title race, Brown once again rose to the occasion and led his team to a crucial Sun Belt opening win over Arkansas State. Brown threw the winning touchdown pass to Cornelius Williams midway through the 4th quarter. The senior finished with 355 yards and two touchdowns. On defense Troy is led by senior DE's Brandon Lang and Cameron Sheffield. Both players are legitimate NFL talents and can cause havoc to the opposing teams QB. Middle Tennessee is a team that has opened some eyes early this year with their tough and gritty play. They are led by dual threat QB Dwight Dasher. This guy is the do it all player for the Blue Raiders. He has thrown for 1028 yards and 7 td's but the bonus is how this guy can make plays with his feet gaining 251 yards and 3 touchdowns. On defense Middle Tennessee has been solid and opportunistic. Junior Safety Kevin Brown had a monster day for the Blue Raiders defense last game out. He intercepted two passes and accounted for six tackles in Middle Tennessee's 37-21 win over North Texas. Brown's first interception of the night came in the first quarter. He returned that pick 36 yards to the Mean Green six yard line to set up the Blue Raider offense for a touchdown. Brown increased his career interception total to five.
